LEVOSTAT® is indicated for the treatment of mild, moderate and severe infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated micro-organisms in the condition listed below:
* Genito – Urinary Tract infections (Complicated and non-complicated).
* Skin and Skin Structure infection.
* Sinusitis
* Community Acquired Pneumonia
* Intra-Abdominal Infection
* Bronchitis
Levofloxacin acts on DNA-DNA gyrase complex by inhibiting DNA GYRASE (bacterial topoisomerase II), an enzyme required for DNA replication, transcription, repair and combination and topoisomerase IV.
Pharmacology:
Orally administered LEVOSTAT® is rapidly and almost completely absorbed with the peak plasma concentration being obtained within one hour. The absolute bioavailability is approximately 100%.
